Our History

Mt Olive Baptist Church was established in 1849. It is the oldest Baptist church in Phelps County, Missouri. We are a small church with a big heart. Since our beginning in 1849 we have helped establish several area churches including First Baptist in Rolla, New Home Baptist of Newburg, Ft. Wyman Baptist Church, and most recently, Jerome Baptist in Jerome.

Our church has always had a heart for missions. In March of 2000 we voted to establish mission partnerships with churches in Wyoming and in Belarus which was part of the former Soviet Union. God has used Mt. Olive to spread God's Word for over 150 years.

When you come to Mt. Olive Baptist Church you will receive a warm welcome. We are a country church that believes the Bible is the infallible, inerrant, perfect, Word of God. Because of this you will hear God's Word presented each and every week in a simple but challenging way. We love to sing at Mt. Olive and have been blessed with a number of fine musicians.
