My son Joshua is in the military Joshua is a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army. At this time he is stationed at the Embassy in Martina, Africa. Joshua and his wife, Mandy, have several "fur babies" which we love very much! Mandy is still able to work with the family business, via internet, while they are stationed in Africa. They are living the American dream.

When it all gets boiled down, what's the most important thing in life? There's a song I sing that explains it very well, "Loving God, and Loving Each Other."

Loving God because of the Amazing Grace He showed us by forgiving our sins through the cross even though we didn't deserve it. And, loving each other because we are made in God's image and know what it is like to experience that grace. My life is simply a journey trying to reach the place where that describes who I am. I am daily learning how to love God more, and to accept His wonderful love for me, and I'm trying to really make it my nature to see people as God does (and He sees them as full of worth and love) and to love them the way He does.

My life is pretty wild, but it is good! I have a wonderful wife who makes me smile and laugh often, a beautiful daughter and a handsome son. I enjoy reading the Bible, and discussing it with others. I also enjoy hunting with my dogs, playing the guitar, carpentry, and woodworking.

My hope and dream for Mt. Olive Baptist Church is that we will really become not a church but a community that focuses on loving God with all our hearts, soul and minds. My desire is for this to be the place where you know you are always welcome and wanted, and you can come to explore and examine what it means to love and to be loved by our amazing God. I'd love for you to come in and stop by some time to talk. Let's take this journey and see where it takes us!

When the Pharisees heard how He had outdone the Sadducees, they gathered their forces for an attack. One of their religion scholars spoke for them, posing a question they hoped would show Him up: "Teacher, which command in God's Law is the most important?" Jesus said, "'Love the Lord your God with all your passion and prayer and intelligence.' This is the most important, the first on any list. But there is a second to set alongside it: 'Love others as well as you love yourself.' These two commands are pegs; everything in God's Law and the Prophets hangs from them." Matthew 22:32-40
